Maui Part 2

Here is my second Maui post. We did other things besides hang on the beach. For example the kids read. They love to read especially the same books over and over. I think we all read Brown Bear, Brown Bear to them like 20 times each. :)

The pool was right outside our condo and Cassidy was in love with it. I knew she would love the pool as she loves swim class here. If asked, Cass would pick the pool over the ocean everytime. We usually went to the beach in the mornings and the pool after nap. She was just so happy and wanted to jump off the side over and over again. :)

We also went on a whale watching boat. Here is a picture of Cassidy and Aaron waiting to take off. The trip started off ok but they dont allow you to hold children in case you fall but it is also hard for kids to walk on their own since the boat rocks.

After a little while I went downstairs with Cass and she started to cry. All of a sudden she started throwing up all over me and her. :( It was so sad she got so sea sick. Sadly, she got my genes as far as that stuff goes. After I took off her shirt we cuddled at the back of the boat where it is the calmest. The bad part of that was we couldnt see any whales. She started to feel better and I went up to see the whales and take a few pics.

Here are the kids after Cass started to feel better reading with Grandma as everyone else was up watching the whales. Notice how she has no shirt on. Poor girl.

One afternoon my parents were nice enough to watch Cass and Donovan so we all could go out to lunch. We went into Laihana and went to Cheeseburgers & Paradise. It was so fun! We had the best waiter, we had awesome seats on the water, we had great food and we had great company!

Cassidy and Donovan also spent a lot of time just being silly and playing with eachother. They took a lot of baths together to get rid of all that sand.

They sat by eachother and laughed.

They wrestled with my brother.

They found bowls to use as hats.

On the second to last day it rained so we left my parents to enjoy some peace/quiet and we headed to the Maui Discovery Center Aquarium. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the fish especially at the beginning.

We all went out to dinner in Lahaina at Bubba Gumps. Aaron is sooo good at Bubba Gump trivia since it is one of his favorite movies! My parents bought Cass and Donovan adorable hawaiian outfits so this was their chance to wear them.

As we were waiting for our table we had a quick photo session. :) The sun was setting and it was so pretty!

We had a great meal!

We had a wonderful trip. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Our kids were at such a fun age! Aaron and I have been wanting to go back the minute we got home. :) Thank you to my parents! And if you are reading this, our bags are always packed for the next trip!

Maui 2011

We had the awesome opportunity to go to Maui on New Years Eve! Thank you mom and dad! We went with my parents, my brother John, sister-in-law Laurie and my nephew Donovan. We were a little worried about the 6 hour flight but let me tell you IT WAS WORTH IT!

Cass slept the first three hours and was pretty good the rest of the time. Grade: A- I gave her extra points than normal since it was such a long flight! We were so happy to be there. Aaron hasnt been on vacation or home since we came home for like 3 days the Christmas before. We went straight to the beach while we waited for my family to arrive. That is our condo complex in the background. Pretty right?

We spent most of our time on the beach. This is my beach post. The adults snorkeled and the kids played in sand and made sand castles!

Our babies were so cute together. Check out the sunglasses. :)

Donovan loved the ocean right away!

Cassidy didnt love the ocean right away like Donovan did. She was happier playing in the sand or being held above the water. She started to get more brave later in the week starting by exploring near the water then throwing rocks into the water and then finally on the second to last day she loved it! We were so happy she got to love it. Here she is exploring with Grandma.

I love Hawaii. I love the sun. I love the beach. Doing anything on the beach is more fun. Think about it. Reading: more fun on the beach. Sleeping: more fun on the beach. Drinking a cocktail: more fun on the beach. Talking & Laughing: more fun on the beach. :)
