Cassidy Elizabeth

My first baby girl is now 3 years old. I still cant believe it! This post is dedicated to her. I want to write down things she likes, things about her personality, things she dislikes etc.

This first picture was on her first birthday. She is such a ham, she loves to be the center of attention. She is a little more bashful now but she still loves to make everyone laugh and have everyone looking at her.

Even though she is full of energy she also likes to have quiet moments. She will watch an airplane cross the sky, watch other kids play from across the way, read in her room alone, etc. Sometimes she just watches Aaron and I then laughs to herself.
She loves to read. I used to read with my mom every night in her bed. I love to read and I hope both my girls love to read as well.
She LOVES to be in California with her Grandma and Grandpa. She loves her uncles/aunts, her Grandpa Johnson and all her cousins and talks about them constantly. I wish we lived closer sometimes but I love that she looks forward to going there and gets so excited to go to my parents house and see them. I love that she loves airplanes and loves to travel. Here is a list of Cassidy's trips:

3 months old: California
7 months old: California
8 months old: California
10 months old: California
13 months old: California
15 months old: California
17 months old: California
20 months old: California
22 months old: Hawaii
23 months old: California
27 months old: California
28 months old: Chicago
29 months old: California
30 months old: California
34 months old: California
35 months old: California

95% of those times we took 2 airplanes both down and back. Which would mean she has been on approx. 64 airplanes in her 3 years of life! That is incredible! Thank you to my parents for helping me with all of those tickets!
She is goofy. She is so funny and she knows it. She loves to tell jokes and see your reaction to them.
She is adventurous, a little dare devil. She loves to go fast, jump off moving things, jump off the top of the stairs etc.
She is a lover not a fighter. She is all about kisses and hugs. And boy does she love all her cousins.
She is so sweet and is always telling us we are her best friends and she loves us. Plus I love that she has blonde hair and green eyes. I would have never thought I would have a daughter with blonde hair and green eyes. I am so glad I married Aaron, he sure is cute!
Here she is on her 2nd birthday.
I love that she loves me unconditionally and whenever I ask her if she would rather come with me or do something else even if it is watch a movie or play outside she always picks comes with me. Melt my heart. I hope she always wants to go everywhere with me.

She loves to be outside. She loves to drink lemonade and sit on the back deck and go swimming. :)

She loves the holidays like I do. She is always up to go anywhere and try anything new. She always says, "lets go somewhere, where should we go?"
She was so sweet when I was pregnant. She was constantly rubbing my belly and kissing baby sister. I know Katelynn could feel the love from inside my tummy.
She is the best big sister. She loves to show Katelynn off. She tells everyone to come look at her baby sister and every night she wants a kiss and hug from me and Aaron. Then she walks over and gives Katelynn a kiss and a hug too. When she prays she always prays for her baby sister. Plus she talks about how when Katelynn gets older then she will be able to walk and talk and play with her.
She will do anything for a bribe. If I say that she will get a juice box if she takes one picture then she will ham it up for me to take one. :)
She does NOT like going to bed. She has never been a great sleeper at night. She is such a night owl. She wants to stay up with us until 11pm every night just hanging out. She actually gets happier and more excited the later it is. If we would let her, in her ideal dream world, she would go to bed at 11pm every night and then sleep in until 9:30. Here she was late one night decorating the tree with her daddy.
This picture is from Christmas 2011. I love how excited she was for Santa to come.

Here she is on her 3rd birthday in the outfit she picked out. She is my girly girl. She loves to be outside and get dirty but she also LOVES pink, skirts, dresses, nail polish, lipstick etc. She loves to pretend to do her makeup and look in the mirror in the bathroom before going back out to play.

She is 3 and therefore is quite spunky. She may have a little bit of an attitude. lol For example, if I ask her not to do something and she keeps doing it then she gets a warning. If she still does it which happens fairly often I count to three and if I get to three then she gets a timeout. Now, once she is in timeout she stops. But then I go to talk to her and ask her to say sorry for whatever it was so she can come out of timeout. A lot of the time she refuses to say sorry and says she would rather just stay in timeout! In this picture I asked her to come in from outside and she told me no and just hid behind the chair. She stayed there for quite awhile as she refused to come back in. I was NOT happy but I also thought it was secretly a little funny for a picture. Oh boy, I guess this is all normal for her age but it makes us want to pull our hair out quite frequently!

Dear Cassidy, Happy 3rd Birthday. Daddy and I love you so much. You make us laugh, smile and just bring us happiness everyday. We love watching you learn new things. You love to challenge us but hey that makes life interesting. You are so sweet and spunky. I cant wait to wake up every morning just to see what you will say and do. You always say please, thank you, I love you and give us kisses and hugs. You made us parents and we are so blessed to have you in our family. xoxoxo Love, Mama

THREE part 2

Sunday was Cassidy's party. She was so excited! We were so lucky that it was a nice day and we were all able to sit outside. The kids all played on the slide and chased eachother around the backyard. I love that California weather!

Cassidy was thrilled to be 3!

Amanda came early to help me set up for the party. LOVE HER!
Katelynn and my newest niece Hazel spent some quality time together. :) Aren't they cute?
I am not sure if they were kissing or just both trying to eat eachother. lol

Cass and Sage were so cute. First Cass was reading to Sage and then they were both reading to themselves next to each other.
My awesome friends came. I am so lucky to have them. I have been friends with Heather for 22 years, Amanda for 14 years and Alyse for 8 years. They were my bridesmaids and still make time to come see me pretty much every time I come home. I love them!
Aaron's dad came and brought our niece Mallory. Cassidy and Katelynn were so happy they came.
Here is a pic of my brother bonding with the kids.
All the kids loved playing on the slide. That thing just never gets old to them. lol

Cassidy got tons of awesome presents.

She even got this tiara! How cute.
Her cousins helped her open her gifts.

Action shot of everyone singing.

Cassidy was acting shy when everyone was singing but secretly loved it. Then she blew out her candles.Yummy....cupcakes.

I am pretty sure Donovan liked his. lol
Such a sweet 3 year old.
Our friends Mike and Angela came and brought their adorable daughter Scarlett. :)

I am so lucky my grandma and grandpa came from Chicago. It was so awesome to get a picture of both my grandmas holding Katelynn. I am so lucky to have such strong, sweet, kind grandmas in my life.

After most people left Cassidy took a hot tub with Donovan, Sage, Uncle John, Uncle James, my Uncle Rich and Grandpa. They were even crazy enough to get in the cold pool. Of course some people were thrown in. My brother James threw in my dad and uncle! lol Cassidy and Donovan just got in on their own, crazy kids!It was an awesome party. Aaron finally felt a little better and was able to celebrate with us. Thank goodness, being sick on vacation is awful! Thank you to EVERYONE who came to celebrate Cassidy. A special HUGE thank you to my parents. They are so kind to host every party. My dad works so hard to cook for everyone also. Cassidy loves going to grandma and grandpas and we appreciate their love and support!

THREE part 1

My first baby girl turned 3! So off we went to California. Boy was it an adventure getting there. We were supposed to leave Friday night from our town. 2 hours prior our flight was canceled because of fog. By the time I rescheduled our flight to the town 40 min from our house we were in a rush to get to the airport. It took us way longer than expected to get there due to said fog. Even though we were there 30 min early they wouldnt let us check our bags. In the small airport one person works the counter until 40 min before the flight then shuts down the counter and goes takes boarding passes at the flight. SO no one was at the counter therefore we couldnt check in. :( So we then had to reschedule to the town farthest away the next morning. So we decided to drive there that night because our flight was at 6am the next morning. We then had to back track to our house then head north. Total driving that day was approx. 3 hours. UGH! Anyway so we slept in a hotel then took the flight out the next morning. Plus this whole time Aaron was incredibly sick to his stomach! I felt so bad for him! By the time we got there he went straight to bed all day while I spent time with my family.

My grandparents and uncle/aunt came all the way to CA from Chicago which was awesome. First thing we did on Saturday was head to the park. Cass and Donovan had a blast. I think this picture is hilarious. Cass is thrilled and Donovan was NOT thrilled about me taking so many pictures. LOL He really was having a blast though.

We played some tball.
My mom spent time with Katelynn who soaked up some much appreciated Vitamin D.
The kids spent a lot of time swinging.

Saturday night we had a big family dinner. It was a great first day!
