Cassidy Elizabeth Johnson is here!!!!!!

So it happened, I finally gave birth! Aaron and I welcomed Cassidy into the world. I could not be any happier. Lets see, I went into the hospital on Friday the 13th!! Ahhhh! I am glad I didnt give birth on that day. lol I got induced with pitocin on Saturday (Valentine's Day!) the 14th of February at 7:00am. My contractions started right after. I thought for sure that I would have a valentines day baby!! (I didnt know if I really wanted that just because what if she is like 16 and doesnt have a valentine/boyfriend and its her birthday?? I know that is stupid but I didnt ever want her to be depressed on her birthday!) Anyway, so I was in labor the entire day!!!! Labor really sucks! lol My water broke at 3:39pm that day and boy was that weird!!! I said to my nurse that either my water broke or I just totally peed my pants!!! I was soooo glad it was my water but I wasnt sure at first. :) I thought that meant I was really close to having her but seriously every time they checked me I was STILL 2 FREAKIN CM!! I cried every time they told me that! I felt just like Rachel from Friends!!! (now looking back I think it is very ironic yet perfect that I had almost the same experience as Rachel... and yes I know she isnt real.) Anyway, I had contractions every 2 minutes all day and all night.... needless to say it was the worst Valentine's Day ever!!

So at 6 am on the 15th, Cassidy's heart rate was slowing. She was soooo tired and started to not like the pitocin, can you blame her? I had been in labor for 24 hours by then! Anyway, the nurse said that she would check me one more time and if I was still 2 or 3cm I would have to have a c-section right then. I had worked so hard and I didnt want that. Luckily, I was 8cm!!!!! She made it sound like I was soooo close to giving birth. Ummm yah she was wrong, she forgot to mention that the hard part was just starting! I then pushed for 4 hours!!!!

One funny story is I guess I kept saying "Gosh this hurts." Which was hilarious to my doctor and 2 nurses. My doctor said he knew I had a ways to go because I was only saying gosh. He said that when I started saying really bad words he would know she was almost here. I told him I dont cuss but he didnt believe me. Another hour in and I guess I said "Oh my gosh, this really really hurts." Which of course my doctor thought was funny but said he thought that was a little bit better. lol Anyway, I am proud to say I never said anything worse! lol Wait, should I be proud of that?!

So finally, after 27 hours... Cassidy Elizabeth Johnson arrived at 10:00 am exactly. She weighed 7.18 or 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She had a ton of dark brown hair and was so beautiful. We simply loved the name Cassidy. We thought it was girly but also love the nickname Cass for when she is kicking butt at sports and in case she is a tomboy like her mom! :)We picked her middle name to be Elizabeth because it is my grandmother's (Nanny) middle name. I wanted to name her after my nanny because she means so much to me and I would be so happy and proud if my daughter is like her in any way. Although I was exhausted, I was so happy and would do it all over again right now. Aaron and I truly feel she is a miracle and a gift from God. We are a true family now and we are so blessed. We want to thank everyone for their love and supoport. Cassidy is so loved.

Even though I look HORRIBLE in this next picture, I wanted to post it since it really shows my experience! lol I had to work my butt off to get to see my daughter!! :) There are a few things/people I could not have done this without.
1) My husband. Aaron was so supportive and helped me through every minute. He made me feel like I was doing such a good job and that he was so proud of me. He loves Cassidy so much and is the perfect dad! I am so thankful and blessed to have him.
2) My Friends DVDs. :) I watched two full seasons (7 & 8) It kept me distracted and laughing!
3) The bouncy ball, my back hurt so bad and that thing was a life saver.
4) My mom... she stayed a week after Cassidy was born and really helped Aaron and I! She is already a wonderful Grandma Nanny (that is what she calls herself!) Thanks mom!!! Come back soon, Rusty and Cody miss you!
5) All our friends and family who texted and called! I could feel the love!
Now that she is 2 weeks old, I have a ton more posts to do! Those will come soon! :)
