Things Cassidy Loves!

So I thought I would do a post that is all about the things Cassidy loves at this time in her life. She changes and grows so much! Watching her reach milestones is so special and fun! Each day I wake up I am excited to see what she will do.

Currently she loves....

*Laying on her stomach to practice lifting her head.

*Hanging out on her changing table. For some reason she smiles everytime she is on her changing table. Not necessarily when she is naked or getting changed but afterward just laing there.
*Laying in her crib watching her Winnie the Pooh mobile.
*Her dad. She is truly a daddy's girl.

*Watching the fish swim.

*Reading... she is just like her mom.
*Listening to me sing and play games. (She is the ONLY one who likes my voice)

*SMILING!

*Meeting family and friends who love her!

*Her silly mama!

Happy 1 Month Birthday Cassidy!!!

Cassidy is now 1 month old!!! The month flew by and I must say it was the best month of my life. Being a mother has made me so happy and I thank God everyday that Aaron and I were blessed with Cassidy. Everyday gets even better and I cant wait to watch her grow. Happy Birthday Cass, mom and dad love you more than you will ever know! You made us a family! xoxo

Rusty and Cody were giving you kisses for your birthday!!! They love you too!!!

And now you smile!!!!! :) Best feeling in the world!

Family Visit

So last weekend, my dad and brother came to see Cassidy! It was such a fun weekend, my dad cooked AMAZING dinners and Aaron and I just loved getting to hang out with them. Aaron took John out to the country, we watched movies, played dominos and both my dad and brother got to experience what is like to live where it snows!! The visit was over too soon and it made me realize how much I really miss my family and especially my brothers!

She loves her little play gym!!! Sometimes she loves the bath! Each time she likes it a little bit more!

It was a great weekend and I hope they come back soon, Cassidy already misses her Grandpa and her Uncle John!!!

The First Few Days

We spent the night after Cassidy was born at the hospital trying to sleep a little before we took her home. My back felt so much better after giving birth and we were just so happy that we decided to go home the 16th in the evening. Here are a few pictures at the hospital.

So here is our official first family photo right before we left the hospital. :) We were ready to experience parenthood firsthand, ready to start this adventure together through all the ups and downs. We were just happy our dream of bringing home a happy, healthy and beautiful baby had come true!

Our first week home was wonderful and exhausting! ;) Cassidy had a little jaundice so we spent quite awhile at the doctor, I am so thankful and happy to say she is all better now. The first week was all very eventful. Cassidy's umbilical cord stump fell off revealing her adorable belly button, she heard and LOVED the song I made up for her, she got read her first book (the same book I read as a baby), she had her first bath, she watched her first episode of American Idol and she realized just how much her mom and dad love her! :) I cant wait for all the events coming up!!
This is after her first bath!

Going to the doctor.

Just hanging out, listening to mom sing. lol Cassidy is the ONLY person who likes my voice! :)
Above, is Cassidy's one week old "birthday" picture!!! February 22, 2009!!! Happy birthday Cass, mommy and daddy love you more than life! We cant wait to see you grow and thrive!

The two pictures above are just Cassidy hanging out in her crib with her Winnie the Pooh and Tigger! :) These were taken on her two week old birthday, March 1, 2009. (I promise I wont document her every week birthday) LOL However, I think the first few weeks are very exciting and deserve mention and photos. :)

The last couple pictures are pretty recent.Cassidy is now 3 weeks old and is getting on a schedule. :) Aaron's dad just came to visit and this weekend my dad and brother will be visiting. Cassidy is so loved!

Cassidy Elizabeth Johnson is here!!!!!!

So it happened, I finally gave birth! Aaron and I welcomed Cassidy into the world. I could not be any happier. Lets see, I went into the hospital on Friday the 13th!! Ahhhh! I am glad I didnt give birth on that day. lol I got induced with pitocin on Saturday (Valentine's Day!) the 14th of February at 7:00am. My contractions started right after. I thought for sure that I would have a valentines day baby!! (I didnt know if I really wanted that just because what if she is like 16 and doesnt have a valentine/boyfriend and its her birthday?? I know that is stupid but I didnt ever want her to be depressed on her birthday!) Anyway, so I was in labor the entire day!!!! Labor really sucks! lol My water broke at 3:39pm that day and boy was that weird!!! I said to my nurse that either my water broke or I just totally peed my pants!!! I was soooo glad it was my water but I wasnt sure at first. :) I thought that meant I was really close to having her but seriously every time they checked me I was STILL 2 FREAKIN CM!! I cried every time they told me that! I felt just like Rachel from Friends!!! (now looking back I think it is very ironic yet perfect that I had almost the same experience as Rachel... and yes I know she isnt real.) Anyway, I had contractions every 2 minutes all day and all night.... needless to say it was the worst Valentine's Day ever!!

So at 6 am on the 15th, Cassidy's heart rate was slowing. She was soooo tired and started to not like the pitocin, can you blame her? I had been in labor for 24 hours by then! Anyway, the nurse said that she would check me one more time and if I was still 2 or 3cm I would have to have a c-section right then. I had worked so hard and I didnt want that. Luckily, I was 8cm!!!!! She made it sound like I was soooo close to giving birth. Ummm yah she was wrong, she forgot to mention that the hard part was just starting! I then pushed for 4 hours!!!!

One funny story is I guess I kept saying "Gosh this hurts." Which was hilarious to my doctor and 2 nurses. My doctor said he knew I had a ways to go because I was only saying gosh. He said that when I started saying really bad words he would know she was almost here. I told him I dont cuss but he didnt believe me. Another hour in and I guess I said "Oh my gosh, this really really hurts." Which of course my doctor thought was funny but said he thought that was a little bit better. lol Anyway, I am proud to say I never said anything worse! lol Wait, should I be proud of that?!

So finally, after 27 hours... Cassidy Elizabeth Johnson arrived at 10:00 am exactly. She weighed 7.18 or 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She had a ton of dark brown hair and was so beautiful. We simply loved the name Cassidy. We thought it was girly but also love the nickname Cass for when she is kicking butt at sports and in case she is a tomboy like her mom! :)We picked her middle name to be Elizabeth because it is my grandmother's (Nanny) middle name. I wanted to name her after my nanny because she means so much to me and I would be so happy and proud if my daughter is like her in any way. Although I was exhausted, I was so happy and would do it all over again right now. Aaron and I truly feel she is a miracle and a gift from God. We are a true family now and we are so blessed. We want to thank everyone for their love and supoport. Cassidy is so loved.

Even though I look HORRIBLE in this next picture, I wanted to post it since it really shows my experience! lol I had to work my butt off to get to see my daughter!! :) There are a few things/people I could not have done this without.
1) My husband. Aaron was so supportive and helped me through every minute. He made me feel like I was doing such a good job and that he was so proud of me. He loves Cassidy so much and is the perfect dad! I am so thankful and blessed to have him.
2) My Friends DVDs. :) I watched two full seasons (7 & 8) It kept me distracted and laughing!
3) The bouncy ball, my back hurt so bad and that thing was a life saver.
4) My mom... she stayed a week after Cassidy was born and really helped Aaron and I! She is already a wonderful Grandma Nanny (that is what she calls herself!) Thanks mom!!! Come back soon, Rusty and Cody miss you!
5) All our friends and family who texted and called! I could feel the love!
Now that she is 2 weeks old, I have a ton more posts to do! Those will come soon! :)

I am soooo close!!!

So I am now really close to my due date! Finally! Pregnancy wise, I am still feeling really wonderful. I have decided however, my back officially hates me. I have to remind myself how lucky I have been up to this point. I really thought my back would hurt a lot sooner in my pregnancy. I am officially trying to be really tough and just deal with the pain so that my baby can stay inside me as long as she needs. I am looking forward to her coming though on so many levels!!

So this past weekend, I was hanging out with my friend Josie and so Aaron was able to go fishing one last time before the baby comes. I was so happy he got to go since I know how much he loves it. Luckily, he also got lucky and caught some huge brown trout! So even though this next picture is really embrassing, I am still going to post it because I think it is hilarious. All my pants are a bit snug now so I decided to wear Aaron's sweatpants. These are normally massive on me but I soon discovered that his pants now fit me! :) LOL

My WA Baby Shower!

So last Friday, the 6th my friends here in Washington threw me a baby shower. It was really fun! That same day, Aaron's co-workers suprised him with a baby shower at his work! We got so many great gifts, I now have so many clothes!!! My baby will never run out of adorable things to wear! Here I am with Josie, I am so glad I am not her boss anymore so we can just be the best of friends!

My co-worker Terri and I.

The above two girls are my bunco friends, Erin and Tatum!!

Thanks to everyone!!! Now I just need to have my baby to utilize all my wonderful gifts! :)
